Interlibrary Loan Services

Home Marvin E. McKee Library Interlibrary Loan Services
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a way of borrowing material from other libraries. Our library has three ways of requesting material: a webform, a paper form at the circulation desk, and the OCLC webform within the OCLC databases.

We borrow and lend material only from US libraries; the only exception is for articles. All articles are transferred from library to library via a cloud platform, so sending these to other countries does not cost any money.

The lending libraries determine due dates for borrowed material. Books and other material sent through the mail will have a paper strap or sticker with their due date. Typical due dates are anywhere from two weeks to three months. Articles have no due date; they are yours to keep.

Book & Periodical Request

For registered McKee Library Users Only

Please check the McKee Library Catalog before requesting material. Requests for materials found in the McKee Library will be returned unfilled.

Every blank must be filled in to validate the form. You will be notified by email when materials are received. Materials must be picked up at McKee Library.

Do not put multiple requests on a single form. For example, if you want to request 4 things, you will need to fill out and submit the request form 4 times.

Notice: Warning concerning copyright restrictions

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use”, that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgement, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.

By proceeding to the request form, you indicate that you agree to the Terms of Service and have read and understand the policy above. Your submission of this form will constitute your consent to the collection and use of this information and the transfer of this information to McKee Library for processing and storage. You also agree to receive required administrative and legal notices such as this electronically.

Extending the due date on your material

Not every library will extend the due date on your borrowed material. If you need to renew your material, contact us three days in advance and we will send in a request for renewing your material.
