Livestock Judging

Home Campus Organizations Livestock Judging

Oklahoma Panhandle State University has a long history and tradition of fielding competitive livestock judging teams. Livestock judging allows students to develop critical thinking and reasoning skills and create convincing oral defenses of their placings. The team members will have the opportunity to travel across the country and meet industry individuals and observe production practices of industry leaders. The team will competitively evaluate cattle, swine, sheep and goats at several national and regional contests per year. The season starts with the National Western Stock Show and culminates at the North American International Livestock Expo in November.
