Joe Jefferis
Joe was born in 1947 and would receive his elementary and secondary education in Goodwell. He attended Panhandle State College, graduating in 1969, and was commission a second lieutenant in the Army. He later earned his masters degree in business administration from Boston University. He served six years on active duty before going to work for the Army as a civilian.
In 1969, he married Alice Raynelle Colvin of Balko. They have two children -Jeremy and Christa. He is presently married to the former Bonnie McDannald. Joe has begun his second career and is moving to the Northern Virginia area.
His 33 years of service to the nation included 18 years overseas in Vietnam, Germany, and South Korea. He also attended the Army War College. The last seven years were served in the Senior Executive Service at Fort Monroe, Virginia as the chief financial officer of the command responsible for recruiting and training the Army’s men and women. He was in a meeting in The Pentagon when the terrorist attack occurred on the morning of September 11, 2001, but escaped injury.
