Dr. Emma Lu (Suttle) Walton
Dr. Emma Lu (Suttle) Walton was raised in Forgan, Oklahoma, and attended Panhandle A&M College, finishing her degree in education at the University of Oklahoma. Following her husband, Jim, she taught high school science in Louisiana, Maryland, and Alaska. Dr. Walton obtained a masters degree at Bowie State University and completed her doctorate in education at the University of Southern California. She has also been employed by the National Science Foundation. Dr. Walton is a past president of the National Science Teachers Association, and is currently researching and writing a history of the NSTA.
