Panhandle State Business Office Named Silver Certified Healthy Department for 2023

The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Business Office has been named a Silver Certified Healthy Department 2023 winner, recognizing its commitment to promoting health and wellness among its faculty, staff, and students.

The Certified Healthy Department program, which the Oklahoma State Department of Health administers, aims to encourage and recognize organizations that prioritize health and wellness in the workplace. To be considered for the certification, departments must meet specific criteria in several categories, including nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco free.

OPSU’s dedication to promoting health and wellness was evident in its application, highlighting various initiatives and programs. These included healthy eating options in the campus dining hall, a campus-wide wellness challenge, and a smoke-free campus policy.

The recognition as a Certified Healthy Department 2023 winner is a testament to OPSU’s dedication to promoting health and wellness among its faculty, staff, and students. It also highlights the importance of creating a culture of health and wellness in the workplace and beyond.

Vice President of Fiscal Affairs, Elizabeth McMurphy commented, “This achievement has been made by each of the members in the Business Office as well as many others on the OPSU campus. We are proud of this recognition and continuously strive to promote health and wellness.”
