The university will continue enhanced sanitization procedures according to CDC and State Department of Health Guidance.

Staff, faculty, students, and community members may wear masks if they so choose. Staff and faculty are encouraged to work with their immediate supervisor for any medically necessary accommodations, and students may contact their academic advisor for any medically necessary accommodations.

Any student, faculty, or staff who may have been exposed to COVID-19 or who have received a positive test result should continue to report to the Dean of Students or text (580) 952-0540 for further assistance.

COVID-19 vaccines are readily available in Texas County for all community members wishing to receive one. Please visit the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s website for vaccine centers at https://vaccinate.oklahoma.gov/en-US/vaccine-centers/.

University President, Dr. Tim Faltyn, stated, “We look forward to a brighter and much more familiar fall semester thanks to the hard work put in by the faculty and staff. I appreciate the diligence and patience of our students, faculty, staff, and community during the pandemic. Our goal is always to offer a first-class educational experience for everyone on campus at Panhandle State while keeping all of us safe.”

“The faculty of OPSU led the campus in innovations that ensured students had the best possible experience in the classroom and online,” said OPSU Provost, Dr. Julie Dinger. “Our outstanding faculty will continue to promote excellence in and out of the classroom.”

Dr. Ryan Blanton, Vice President of Operations, added, “We will continue to monitor and update our protocols following state and national health guidance and update our campus community as we move forward towards traditional campus activities.”

Should the COVID-19 situation change, OPSU will communicate policy changes to our community as quickly as possible.
