Goodwell, Okla. — A special send-off party for Jill Olson is set for Monday, February 25th in the Baggerly Banquet Hall at the University House. Well-wishes and remarks are set to begin at 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
Originally from West Central Minnesota, Jill and her husband, Jerry came to Panhandle State in April of 1990. Jerry had the opportunity to coach the Women’s basketball team and serve as a Physical Education Instructor for four years before accepting a position at Montana State. Ten years later the couple found themselves back in Goodwell with Jerry accepting positions as the Head Women’s Coach and Athletic Director. Jill accepted a position as the Student Events Coordinator before moving roles and serving as the Administrative Assistant to the President, Dr. David Bryant.
Jill has worked for 14 years at Panhandle State. She has served as the Administrative Assistant to the President for both Dr. Bryant and current Panhandle State President Dr. Tim Faltyn. From countless numbers of chili cook-offs, Regent’s Board meetings, and commencement ceremonies, the everlasting memories and unforgettable friendships will be a great reminder of the excellent service she provided to the university. Jill is easily known as one of the sweetest people on the Oklahoma Panhandle State University campus and widely respected in the community.
Panhandle State President Dr. Tim Faltyn commented, “Jill will be greatly missed and will always be a great member of the Aggie family. I know I speak for all of us when I say that we want to wish her and Jerry the best in the next chapter of their lives.”
Jill’s future plans include joining Jerry in Montana, where he is currently serving as the Athletic Director at Miles Community College.
Current Student Activities Coordinator, Emilie Cowan, has accepted the position as the new Administrative Assistant to the President. Cowan brings a strong skill set and work ethic to the position and will do a great job.
