Aggie Volleyball’s Kendra Butler Recognized by Main Street Guymon

Goodwell, Okla.—Panhandle State student-athlete Kendra Butler was named the Main Street Guymon Vital Volunteer for the month of March.

The sophomore middle blocker/right side player for the Aggies had made an impact both on and off the court. Originally from Houston, Texas, Butler decided not to go home during Spring Break this year, and instead offered herself as a volunteer during that week, working numerous hours on several Main Street Guymon projects. “Her help was deeply appreciated, as are each of the 45 volunteers that gave time during the month of March,” stated Melyn Johnson, Director of Main Street Guymon. “It is only with the help of our volunteers that Main Street Guymon is able to accomplish what do. Kendra is always willing to help in whatever way she is needed.”

In addition to her strong community involvement throughout the year, Butler also shined on the court and in the classroom. She was a two-time Aggie of the Week athlete, earned SAC All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition and was named an SAC Academic All-Conference player. Kendra Butler truly exemplifies what it means to be an Aggie.
