RN to BSN Program


The mission of the RN to BSN Program is to support educational mobility and broaden previous education by focusing on the importance of our program values. Our vision is to promote professionalism and leadership development through an emphasis on empowerment and empathy.

Classes

In addition to general education requirements, we have 8 required nursing courses for students to complete for their BSN.  Nursing in Rural America, Leadership, and Professional Practice Seminar are the 3 courses that students’ feedback is present and applicable to their everyday practice.

Why OPSU RN to BSN?

Our philosophy of caring and focus on the adult learner has allowed us to develop a unique program that does not require campus attendance.

How long will it take to complete my BSN?

Most courses are 8 weeks in length. If general education courses and elective requirements are met, the program can be completed in two semesters if attending full-time or four semesters if attending part-time.

Can I transfer credits in?

Absolutely! In fact, we will complete a preliminary assessment of prior coursework to help you determine how many additional courses you will need to complete your degree. 

What type of institution is OPSU?

Founded in 1909, OPSU is a baccalaureate degree granting institution located in Goodwell, Oklahoma. The university is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

What are the application requirements?

An associate’s degree or diploma in nursing from a programmatically accredited nursing program (ACEN, CCNE, etc.). An active and unencumbered RN license. Ability to obtain official transcripts from all colleges previously attended. 

Is the RN to BSN program accredited?

Yes! The online nursing program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
