The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Livestock Show Team showcased their exceptional skills and dedication at the 2025 National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado, held January 9–12. Widely regarded as the “Super Bowl” of livestock shows, this prestigious event draws competitors from across the country, making OPSU’s remarkable achievements a testament to their hard work and expertise.
Students representing OPSU included Jorja Juenemann, Kreslyn Smith, Marci Kopf, Bronk Embry, Alya Arana, Ashlyn Eisenman, Adriynne Sparkman, Sydney Carey, Ben Woodward, and Rylee Sprague. The team competed with skill and determination, achieving numerous championships:
- Supreme Overall Champion Ram and Champion Hampshire Ram with “Firestone”
- Champion Hampshire Ewe
- Reserve Champion Hampshire Ewe
- Champion Hampshire Lamb Flock
- Champion Hampshire Pair
- Champion Pair of Hampshire Ewes
- Champion All Other Meat Breeds Ram with “Raise the Bar”
- Champion All Other Meat Breeds Lamb Flock
- Champion All Other Meat Breeds Pair
- Champion All Other Meat Breeds Pair of Ewes
Coach Cassidy Tolle praised the team for their outstanding performance. She said, “This level of success at such a competitive event speaks volumes about the dedication of our students. Their hard work, preparation, and teamwork truly paid off, and I couldn’t be prouder of what they accomplished on a national stage.”
Dean of Agriculture, Science, and Nursing, Tracy Kincannon, stated, “The results at the National Western Stock Show reaffirm the excellence of our livestock program at OPSU. These students represented our university with pride and showcased the strength of our agriculture programs and our commitment to hands-on learning and leadership development.”
