The OPSU Alumni Association is proud to announce the 2024-2025 Alumni and Friends Legacy Scholarship recipients: Elizabeth Ross and Colby Perez. These two outstanding students were selected for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence in academics and extracurricular activities.
Elizabeth Ross, a senior majoring in Animal Science with a Pre-Vet focus, is an active OPSU Meat Judging Team member. She expressed her gratitude for the scholarship, stating, “This scholarship will be very helpful as I pursue my dream of becoming a large animal veterinarian.” Her passion for veterinary science and academic achievements reflect her determination to impact animal care significantly.
Colby Perez, a senior, has been an integral part of the OPSU community through his involvement in the Track and Field team, the Livestock Show team, and the Block and Bridle Club. Colby plans to pursue a career in agriculture and shared his appreciation for the scholarship, stating, “Thank you greatly, and I appreciate the financial assistance to continue pursuing my dream of graduating.”
Shawn Joy, Director of Alumni Relations at OPSU, praised both students for their accomplishments and potential, saying, “Elizabeth and Colby embody the spirit of hard work and ambition that we aim to support through this scholarship. It’s our honor to assist them in achieving their educational goals, and we’re excited to see the impact they’ll make in their respective fields.”
