The Justin Harrington Memorial Jackpots, a beloved tradition for the Panhandle State Rodeo Team, once again exceeded expectations in 2023. This annual event, which was initiated in 2013 to honor the memory of Justin Harrington, proved to be a resounding success, thanks to the unwavering support of sponsors, participants, and dedicated individuals who lent their helping hand. Harrington’s three older sisters, Chancy, Hannah, and Frankie all attended Panhandle State and were on the rodeo team. All proceeds help fund the Rodeo Alumni Scholarship benefiting the Panhandle State Rodeo Team members.

This year’s jackpot showcased a remarkable display of talent and sportsmanship, with participants vying for top honors and coveted bonuses. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the event’s success, making it possible for contestants to shine and the legacy of Justin Harrington to live on.

In the ladies’ category, Grace Perez emerged as the Bonus winner, while Parker McIntyre secured the runner-up position, showcasing their exceptional rodeo skills and determination. On the men’s side, Porter Hall clinched the prestigious title of Bonus champion, with Quint Bell as the deserving runner-up.

In a testament to the growth and popularity of the event, this year’s jackpot featured an impressive total payout of $36,030. The financial rewards not only recognize the hard work and dedication of the contestants but also reflect the generous contributions of those who believe in the spirit of rodeo.

Current members of the Panhandle State Rodeo Team took home a substantial share of the total payout, receiving a commendable $10,930. Not to be overshadowed, OPSU rodeo alumni demonstrated their continued prowess, earning a notable $4,245. These figures highlight the depth of talent within the Panhandle State Rodeo community, past and present.

The 2023 Justin Harrington Memorial Jackpots stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Justin Harrington and the dedication of all those who share a passion for rodeo. With the support of a community that believes in the spirit of rodeo, the future of this event looks promising, and the memories of Justin Harrington continue to inspire participants and spectators alike.
