Panhandle Girls Heading to The American Semi-Finals

Goodwell, Okla. — RFD-TV’s The American held qualifying events around the country throughout the year all leading to the first ever breakaway roping event in The American. The American Semi-Finals will be going on from February 27th through March 1st. The semi-finals will be held in the Cowtown Coliseum in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards and will contain several hundred qualified girls. Five Oklahoma Panhandle State University cowgirls are featured on this list; Bailey Brown, Beau Peterson, Kassie Kautzman, Shyanna Cahoy, and Kaylee Smith.

This will be the competitors’ last chance to advance to RFD-TV’s The American. The top cowgirls will advance to the American on March 2-3, 2019 in the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Breakaway roping continues to grow and gain attention in the rodeo industry. This is a huge stepping-stone in the Breakaway roping history, as it will provide an opportunity for the qualified women to compete for a share of the $85,000 breakaway purse. The semi-finals and finals will count toward the 2019 Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA), the oldest women’s sports organization in the country, Breakaway Roping World Standings as well. Best of luck to our Panhandle State cowgirls at the semi-finals and a big congratulations on the qualification to this prestigious event!

Live results will be posted on www.americanrodeo.com if anyone would like to follow but unfortunately cannot make it.
