Goodwell, Okla. — Christmas time is upon Oklahoma Panhandle State University, and with that cheery air comes festivities, and a lot of them! From Aggie Wonderland, to Christmas concerts, the Aggie family has something for all ages.
Holiday events kick off this Friday the 30th, as all Panhandle State employees will attend the annual Christmas party on campus. The luncheon will include a Christmas tree decorating contest, a holiday desert contest, a table decorating contest, and an ugly sweater contest. Employees’ families will get to partake in the meal and Christmas atmosphere as well.
The following day, Panhandle State’s music department will be hosting Tubachristmas. Saturday, December 1st will be a musical experience you don’t want to miss! All interested in participating in Tubachristmas will have a $30 participation fee, which includes a commemorative button. Proceeds from the event go to support the Panhandle State Band’s trip to Tulsa for the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Honor Band Clinic and Concert. Participants will have a 3 p.m. rehearsal that afternoon before their performance that evening in the Student Union. The evening of Saturday, December 1st is sure to delight. The Panhandle State Music Department is presenting its first annual Christmas Gala, an evening of live music and food set in a winter wonderland. The festive night begins at 6:30 p.m. in the ballroom. Tickets are on sale through November 27th and can be found at christmas.opsu.edu. This is an event for the whole family and is something you’ll want to mark your calendar for!
Monday, December 3rd is going to be an evening to remember at Panhandle State. To start the night right, Santa will be on campus and available for pictures in the ballroom beginning at 6 p.m. After the kids have sat with Santa, Panhandle State invites you to join them in the Aggie Wonderland lighting ceremony at the clock tower. After campus is merry and bright with Christmas lights, the Panhandle State music department will be putting on its annual Christmas concert at 7 p.m. in Centennial Theater followed by cookies and caroling.
Christmas time is special, and Panhandle State would love nothing more than to have you on campus for this special time. Come and experience the largest Christmas light display in the Panhandle, Aggie Wonderland, from December 3rd through December 31st. Walk or drive through the thousands of twinkling lights; the Aggies would be honored to share this holiday season with you!
