Job Summary

The Director of Admissions manages the resources and operations of our recruitment and admissions offices. This role involves supervising recruiters, student office employees, and OPSU Student Ambassadors. The Director collaborates closely with the Registrar’s office, overseeing prospective student data and coordinating the admissions and enrollment process. Additionally, the Director will assist with maintaining student records, handling graduation and commencement tasks, and conducting degree audits as needed. The Director of Admissions will also correspond with prospective students, coordinate campus visits, and develop and implement diverse recruitment strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate OPSU’s recruitment efforts, ensuring effective outreach and engagement with prospective students
  • Maintain a CRM system to track and engage students interested in attending OPSU.
  • Assist with the maintenance and improvement of the university’s application for admission.
  • Provide support to students, staff, and faculty in resolving issues related to registration, overrides, overloads, program evaluations, and withdrawals in line with institutional policies and procedures.
  • Develop and prepare the annual viewbook, schedule tours, assist with admissions paperwork completion, and work with faculty.
  • Collaborate with Campus Communications and Marketing to execute a comprehensive communication plan for prospective students in select programs.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of audit sheets or audit software for use by the registrar and advisors.
  • Coordinate with Academic Deans to host Senior/Transfer Days, providing prospective students with an in-depth understanding of OPSU, and coordinate with the Dean of Student Affairs on New Aggie Orientation.
  • Coordinate the admission process for international students, ensuring compliance with SEVIS regulations and university standards, and serve as the Designated School Official for SEVIS.
  • Monitor and update advisor data in the system, maintaining an accurate advisor listing each term.
  • Support graduation and commencement activities, including attending the ceremony.
  • Represent OPSU positively and professionally, collaborating with academic and other university offices to enhance student recruitment and retention.
  • Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible
  • Must be able to lift more than 25-lb. objects; frequent bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Can be exposed to a variety of weather conditions for periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous manner
  • Other duties as assigned by Associate Vice President of Advancement or Registrar or designee.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Computer application knowledge and experience required.
  • Experience with customer relationship management software preferred.
  • Ability to interact positively with a wide range of people is a must.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Strong Organization, planning, and employee training and supervision skills
