Job Summary

Manages the maintenance of student academic records, processes applications for admission, general advising of students for applicable plans of study, updates student data, assists with concurrent enrollment, and other duties as assigned by the Registrar.

Responsibilities

  • Performs clerical duties involved in the process of maintenance of student academic records.
  • Responsible for processing student applications for admission, and evaluating student transcripts to accurately recommend them for appropriate courses within the university and state requirements
  • Assist students with troubleshooting issues such as Aggie Access, registration, holds, and general academic record questions. Serves as a general resource to all students, staff, faculty, and community members.
  • Assists with concurrent students through the registration process
  • Must know and follow the regulations regarding student records including adherence to privacy laws under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Ability to accurately transcribe student transcripts and/or records
  • Works with Registrar to properly articulate transfer courses to OPSU courses in Banner
  • Assist the registrar with commencement duties, including rehearsal and attendance at the commencement ceremony.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with other departments and a diverse student population.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example.
  • Must be a professional, credible, and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsibly.
  • Must be able to lift more than 40-lb. objects; frequent bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Other duties as assigned by Registrar or their designee.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate degree preferred
  • Experience in managing records and filing systems preferred
  • Experience in working with computers required
  • Effective communication skills, written and oral
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by Registrar.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to stay on task in a high traffic office setting
