Oklahoma Panhandle State University is excited to announce the upcoming Annual Aggie Career Connections event, scheduled for April 7, 2025 at 5PM in the Student Union Ballroom. This event serves as a pivotal platform for juniors and seniors to engage with potential employers, explore diverse career paths, and gain valuable insights into the professional world, thereby preparing them for the workforce and enhancing their career readiness.
Hosted by the OPSU Academic Resource Center, Aggie Career Connections highlights the university’s commitment to student success beyond the classroom. The ARC offers a range of services designed to enhance student achievement, including peer mentoring, mental health counseling, disability accommodations, online tutoring, and career services. Events like Aggie Career Connections facilitate networking and job opportunities, helping students prepare for life beyond graduation.
Employers from various industries will be present at the event, offering students a unique opportunity to learn about different career fields, internships, and job openings. OPSU juniors and seniors are encouraged to bring their resumes, engage in meaningful conversations with recruiters, and take advantage of the resources available to them through the ARC.
The OPSU Writing Center hosted a Resume Workshop on Wednesday, March 26. This workshop assisted students in preparing for the Aggie Career Connections event. Additionally, Instructor of Business Administration, Tracy Curtis, is hosting mock interviews on April 2, 2025 from 8:30AM to 3:00PM in the student union, featuring participation from 12 different businesses in the community.
“Aggie Career Connections is an incredible opportunity for our students to gain invaluable experiences and build meaningful connections. We are so grateful to the businesses that invest in our students, providing them with the skills, mentorship, and opportunities that will shape their futures,” said MaKenze Anderson, the Academic Resource Center Coordinator.
The ARC is proud to host 25 different businesses across various industries, including business and technology, education and arts, and agriculture and science. These businesses play a crucial role in empowering students and preparing them for their future careers.
