The beef bulls consigned to the 68th Annual OPSU Bull Test have completed 56-days of the 112-day performance test. The bulls have an average daily gain (ADG) of 4.18 lbs. and a (WDA) weight-per-day-of-age of 2.91 lbs. The test will be completed on February 1, 2020, and these top-performing bulls will sell in the 68th Annual Performance Tested Sale, February 24, 2020.
Jerry Sedlak, Kingfisher, OK has the two top junior age bulls with ADG’s of 5.54 and 5.43 lbs, respectively. The top bull is a son of EXAR Prophet 7167B and his second-ranked bull is a son of GAR Sure Fire. Galen McCune of Sharon, OK has the third-place junior bull with an ADG of 5.13 lbs. on one of his Hereford bulls.
In the junior age pen division, Jerry Sedlak has the top gaining pen with an ADG of 4.97 lbs. Clarence Frey, Mulhall, OK has the second-ranked junior pen on his five Angus with ADG’s of 2.39, 3.70, 4.41, 5.05 and 4.54 lbs. and WDA’s of 3.12, 3.15, 3.14, 3.41 and 3.46 lbs. Four sires are represented; EXAR Monumental 6056B, TC Dollar UP 5154, Spring Creeks Acclaim 7049 and Jindra Acclaim.
B&M Angus, Edmond, OK has the top senior age bull and the third-ranked senior age bull. These bulls have ADG’s of 6.07 and 5.66 lbs.; respectively. His top gaining bull is sired by En Insight 276 and his third-ranked bull is sired by B&M Upshot 304. Terry Sedlak has the second place senior with an ADG of 5.66 lbs. The Angus bull is sired by S3 Bankers Cash 849.
B&M Angus has the top two senior age pen of bulls with ADG’s of 4.48 and 4.45 lbs.; respectively. Bob Chaffin, Davis, OK has the third place senior pen with an ADG of 4.37 lbs. on four Angus, three sired by BCS Power Play 24C7 and one sired by BCS Scotch Cap Jr C173.
