Weather Updates for AggieFest

Goodwell, Okla. — April is here and rain or shine the inaugural AggieFest will kick off the start of a tradition of bringing the whole community together for a fun-filled day on Saturday, April 12, 2019 on the Oklahoma Panhandle State University campus.

Please note, the concert set for Saturday night will be in Anchor D Arena due to weather conditions. The burger cook-off is still scheduled to take place in the tailgate zone, but the location may change depending on the weather.

To kick this exciting new event off, there will be a color run at 9:30 a.m. All ages are welcome to participate in this exciting run, taking place at Panhandle State’s walking trail. At this same time, the Aggie Football faithful followers can get a first official glimpse of the returning 2019 team members at the AggieFest Scrimmage. The scrimmage begins at 9:30 a.m. on Carl Wooten Field at Anchor D Stadium.

Following the Color Run will be the gourmet burger cook-off, starting at 11am in the tailgate zone on campus. Restaurants from all over the five-state area have signed up to compete against one another and win over the taste buds of all on campus! Visitors are welcome to taste the food entered the cook-off in exchange for food/drink tickets, which can be purchased on campus.

The annual Panhandle State Alumni Meeting is set for 2 p.m. in the Student Union ballroom. This year’s Alumni Hall of Fame honorees will be recognized at this time.

To top off the exciting day, Panhandle State will be hosting a three band concert that evening in Anchor D Arena starting at 5:30 p.m. The Lane Haas Band is the opening act, followed by Kemystry and then the Cody Sparks band will close the night.

With all the excitement around AggieFest, Panhandle State welcomes everyone of all ages to come and join in on the fun this April! For more information, visit aggiefest.opsu.edu.
