Job Summary

Promote and represent the University by being the primary point of contact for prospective students, families, and counselors.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate self-direction, creativity, and strategic thinking in prospect development, enrollment activities, information services, and problem resolution.
  • Discuss policies/procedures required for admission, housing, scholarships/financial aid with prospective students, families and counselors.
  • Proactively anticipate student needs and respond appropriately.
  • Conduct trend analysis and formulate action plans based on analysis. Work with admissions leadership to integrate the results of analysis and planning into the University's overall enrollment plan.
  • Determine strategies for effective outreach and develop and initiate communication/activities to accomplish enrollment goals, including but not limited to outreach via email, texting, telephone, and visits.
  • Make presentations to large and small groups of prospective students/families, on and off-campus, about the programs and opportunities at OPSU. Arrange campus visits for prospective students, and give campus tours when needed.
  • Assist with daily office operations, including answering phones, responding to emails, and greeting prospective students, families, and guests.
  • Participate in the development and execution of on and off-campus recruitment and activities and events designed to market Oklahoma Panhandle State University to prospective freshman (and transfer) students.
  • Travel (in-state and out-of-state) away from campus is required multiple times per month, as well as weekend activities and overnight stays. Must be able to travel through our region.
  • Ability to lift 30 to 45 lbs. (boxes of recruiting materials).
  • Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example.
  • Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible
  • Must be able to lift more than 50-lb. objects; frequent bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Can be exposed to a variety of weather conditions for periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous manner
  • Other duties as assigned by the Provost or his/her designee.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Bilingual in oral and written communication is preferred.
  • One year of customer service.
  • Preferred: Experience in higher education is desired
