J.R.P. Sewell Scholarship and Achievement Award: Honoring Excellence Since 1949
Celebrating a Legacy of Leadership and Citizenship
The J.R.P. Sewell Sewell Scholarship and Achievement Award was established in 1949 to honor the memory of J.R.P. Sewell, a visionary leader instrumental in founding Oklahoma Panhandle State University.
This prestigious award is presented each year at commencement to a graduating senior who exemplifies the highest standards of scholarship, leadership, and citizenship. To be eligible, a student must have completed all of their college work at OPSU, making a true celebration of the dedication and talent within our Panhandle family.
The recipient receives not only recognition but also a timeless moment: an elegant watch symbolizing their outstanding achievements and enduring legacy.
