Our BS in Animal Science program focuses on practical and technical training, with a special emphasis on wildlife management. You'll learn about the preservation and management of wildlife habitats and ecosystems. Access to our university's resources, including purebred herds of Angus beef cattle, a flock of sheep, and a small commercial swine herd, will provide valuable hands-on experience. Additionally, the Firestone Meats Lab offers training in meat science. Our primary goal is to equip you with a comprehensive understanding of wildlife and animal-related industries. Most laboratory assignments occur at our university farm, placing you in direct contact with the real-world issues confronting wildlife managers. Administered by an internationally recognized organization, these certifications convey critical expertise and make our students highly competitive job candidates.
