You’re On Your Way to Becoming an Official Aggie!

Congratulations on your admission! Follow the steps below to get ready for your journey at OPSU. We’re excited to welcome you to the Aggie Family!

Take Your Next Steps Toward Becoming an Aggie!

Congratulations on being admitted to OPSU! Share the good news with us on social media using #WeArePanhandle. Now that you’ve been admitted, you need to complete a few important steps to make it official. We encourage students to complete these steps below as soon as possible.

1. Create your Aggie Access Account

2. Check Your OPSU Email at Least Once a Week

  • Once you have your Aggie Access account set up, you can access your OPSU email account here. This is where communication from the university will be sent, including scholarships, financial aid award letters, housing selection, and enrollment information, so it’s important to check it at least once a week.

3. Complete Your FAFSA

  • The U.S. Department of Education announced a new process for the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Starting October 1st, the FAFSA will be open for a limited number of students and will become fully available to all students and families by December 1st. You and your student should fill out the FAFSA using OPSU’s school code 003174 as soon as possible to maximize scholarship and financial aid opportunities.
  • You may be asked to submit additional documents by OPSU’s Financial Aid Office to complete the process. Requests will be sent to your OPSU email, so remember to continue checking your email account. If you receive a request for additional documents, it’s critical that you respond as soon as possible so your potential student aid isn’t affected.

4. Make an Appointment with Your Advisor

  • Schedule an appointment with your advisor here!

5. Sign Up for New Aggie Orientation and Enrollment

  • New Aggie Orientation and Enrollment previews student life in and out of the classroom. You’ll meet with Central Advisors, confirm your academic college and major, enroll in classes, meet other new students, and learn about campus resources. Orientation is mandatory for new students, and multiple sessions are available, including an online session for those who are unable to attend in person.
  • You’re encouraged to register a family member to attend with you!

6. Order Your Textbooks

7. Register for Housing and Select a Meal Plan

  • Once you’ve been accepted to OPSU, you can register for housing starting March 1st for Fall move-in and October 1st for Spring move-in.
  • At the end of the housing application, a $200 housing deposit must be paid in order to complete the application.
    • This must be submitted online.
    • Cash payments are not accepted.
  • Before you can receive your housing assignment, you must be enrolled as a full-time student at OPSU.

8. Receive Your Room Assignment

  • Room assignments will start July 10th and continue through the summer based on your housing preferences and the date and time you register for housing.
  • Check your OPSU email address often for important information and updates.

9. Accept Your Scholarships and Financial Aid

  • Your application for admission is also your application for scholarships. If you’re eligible for scholarships or financial aid, you’ll receive your award letter(s) that will be sent to your OPSU email account.
  • Log into your myOPSU Portal with your Aggie Access account to accept your award(s).

10. Submit your Immunizaton Records

11. Do You Have an IEP?

  • We need to talk to you at the Academic Resource Center! Contact Robert Crawley at robert.crawley@opsu.edu.

12. Have your official transcripts sent to OPSU.

What is considered official? When transcripts are sent school to school vis US mail, email, or other electronic means such as Parchment, National Clearing House, or other transcript delivery services.

If a student sends OPSU a transcript, it is considered unofficial. An unofficial transcript is sufficient for admitting you as a student, but the Office of Academic Records must receive an official transcript directly from your school. Students can enroll for one semester with an unofficial transcript.

13. Attend Welcome Week!
