Bartlesville, Okla. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State men’s golf team braved blustery weather conditions on Monday and Tuesday, to resume its season with the spring schedule taking the team to the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagle Spring Classic. The Aggies team had an aggregate score of 799 for the 36 holes at the par-72, 6,750-yard Hillcrest Country Club.
“The team played some great golf for the first 14 holes and then had some unlucky things happen,” Aggies Head Coach Dewayne Mauldin said. “Hopefully, we learned not to take things for granted and finish. It was cold on Monday and then rainy on Tuesday. Tuesday had a rain delay for about 40 minutes and it was a little drizzle off-and-on the rest of the day.”
Karsten Harrison was Panhandle State’s top finisher with a score of 179 (89-90), good for 69th. Teammate Lucas Heathington was close behind in a tie for 70th (88-92=190).
Sergi Teller (t73rd) and Jake Hawkins (81st) rounded out the OPSU finishers.
OPSU will next travel to Salina, Kansas, for the Kansas Wesleyan Tournament on March 25-26.
