Music Scholarship Auditions Tomorrow!

Goodwell, Okla. — Hughes Strong Hall on the campus of Oklahoma Panhandle State University is sure to be hopping tomorrow, Friday, April 6, with lots of new faces at the Music Department hosts scholarship auditions and enrollment day. All future Aggies are invited to explore their future!

The event will kick-off with a welcome at 9:30 a.m. followed by a morning full of action including campus tours and scholarship auditions. Participants will have the opportunity to apply and enroll as well as visit with advisors and representatives from the Housing and Financial Aid Offices. Lunch will be provided and current music students will be on hand to answer questions. The afternoon session will take on the same format as the morning.

Music scholarships up to $2500 a year are available regardless of major with enrollment in two or more music groups. Drum major, color guard, and drumline auditions are encouraged.

This event is for students new to campus. Current students who would like to become involved in the choral program are encouraged to visit with Dr. Wilkins. Likewise, current students who would like to become a member of the new Aggie marching band and/or concert band are encouraged to visit with Charla Lewis at charla.lewis@opsu.edu or 580.349.1483 to see what scholarship opportunities are available.

Music Department Chair Charla Lewis said, “It is our hope that students will be able to learn some life skills, make some lifelong friends, enjoy their college experience, and earn some money to pay for their education by taking advantage of this great scholarship opportunity at OPSU. Get in on the ground floor of this reboot and be a part of something awesome!”
