Goodwell, Okla.—The Sooner Athletic Conference announced 120 student-athletes from the fall 2017 seasons who received All-Academic honors for their success in the classroom. Of the three sports carried by Panhandle State (volleyball and men’s/women’s cross country), seven Aggie athletes made the grade as 2017 SAC All-Academic honorees.
Seniors Julia Ibarra and Kayln Moore represented Aggie Volleyball along with sophomore Kendra Butler. From the two Aggie cross country teams, Sunaed Ramirez-Garcia (JR) and Danielle Villarreal (SR) earned spots on the women’s list, and Firas Ghazouani (JR) and Philip Kirongo (SO) were named for the men’s team.
In order to be eligible for the SAC Academic All-Conference teams, students must maintain a minimum 3.25 grade point average during the previous two semesters and be regular participants for their respective teams.
The 2017 SAC awards are presented by Cypress Risk Management, based in Omaha, Neb.
