Job Summary:

This is a nine-month part-time, on-campus, position to serve as Instructor for Criminal Justice.

Responsibilities:

JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teach fall and spring undergraduate Criminal Justice courses. Teach 9 credit hours per semester (fall and spring). Summer teaching is a possibility, depending on funding, enrollment, and curriculum demands.  
• Teach in variety course formats such as face-to-face, online, or hyflex modality (offering face-to-face classroom instruction along withonline elements that may be synchronous or asynchronous).
• Support and participate in academic recruiting and retention efforts.
• Represent Criminal Justice program and promoting the University in the surrounding communities, state, and region.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Must have a strong work ethic and lead by example.
• Must be a professional, credible and respected representative of the institution internally and in the community.
• Must be able to lift more than 50-lb. objects; frequent bending, stooping, and walking.
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous manner.
• Other duties as assigned Dean of College of Arts and Education and/or designee.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A background in Criminal Justice or a closely related field.
• Academic merits, leadership ability, effective communication skills, and ability to be a contributing team member are desired.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree required.
• Field/work experience (law enforcement and/or legal experience) is required.
• Master’s or Doctorate or Juris Doctorate (J.D.) preferred.
