Goodwell, Okla. — The McKee Library on the Oklahoma Panhandle State University campus enjoyed a visit from a lively group of Goodwell Public Schools first and second graders on Friday, October 6, 2017.

Library Director Tony Hardman greeted the students before giving them a full tour of the library and the many great things it has to offer. Hardman began his presentation by explaining the history of libraries and how they got started. He explained how it all began with things being written on wood, then scrolls, and eventually the printing press was invented.

The tour included the audio visual room, computer lab, and main book section before a last stop in the youth room. A highlight of the tour, students were excited to catch a glimpse of the very section where they could come to check out materials.

Hardman also shared with the students that this next summer McKee Library will offer a summer reading program open for all youth to join! He explained the program would include fun activities and events.

The students each received information on how they and their parents could get a library card to check-out materials from McKee Library.

Hardman said, “We at the McKee Library are very excited to see the students this year. This is their second year in touring the library and we hope that they will continue to come back each year.”

McKee Library is always open to students and schools for visits and Mr. Hardman is always more than happy to present to the groups. For more information, contact Tony Hardman at 580.349.1542.
