Contestant Guidelines

Contest will take place prior to the OPSU vs Lyon football game on November 16th

  1. Contest will take place prior to the OPSU vs Lyon College football game on November 16th (2 p.m. kickoff)
  2. There is no entry fee.
  3. Contestants must provide at least 3 gallons of chili for judging and taste testing.
  4. Four experienced chili judges will choose the top three entrants from Best Chili and Best Presentation. In addition, there will be a People’s Choice award.
  5. Contestants must provide their own heating elements; no electricity will be available.
  6. You may begin setting up at your designated serving area as early at 9 a.m.
  7. There will be a mandatory contestant meeting at 10:30 a.m.
  8. Teams must be ready to serve by 11 a.m. when the official judging begins. Please provide your own spoon/ladle. OPSU will provide sample cups/bowls and utensils.
  9. Winners will be announced at half time of the game.
  10. Tailgate area must be cleaned up by the end of the 3rd quarter.
