Contestant Guidelines

Contest will take place prior to the OPSU vs Arizona Christian University football game on October 30th (2 p.m. kickoff)

  1. Contest will take place prior to the OPSU vs Arizona Christian University football game on October 30th (2 p.m. kickoff)
  2. There is no entry fee.
  3. Contestants must provide at least 3 gallons of chili for judging and taste testing.
  4. Four experienced chili judges will choose the top three entrants from Best Chili and Best Presentation. In addition, there will be a People’s Choice award.
  5. Contestants must provide their own heating elements; no electricity will be available.
  6. You may begin setting up at your designated serving area as early at 10:30am
  7. There will be a mandatory contestant meeting at 11:30am
  8. Teams must be ready to serve at 12pm when the official judging begins. Please provide your own spoon/ladle and serving bowls. OPSU will provide sample bowls and utensils.
  9. Winners will be announced at half time of the game.
  10. Tailgate area must be cleaned up by the end of the 3rd quarter.
